It has come to the notice of the Registrar-General’s Department that misconceptions exist in respect of requirements for the registration of business entities.
The Department wishes to bring to the notice of the general public that:
- Environmental Certificate Obtaining an Environmental Certificate is not and has never been a requirement for registering of a business. However, Businesses whose operations impact on the environment would be required to obtain the necessary certification or license from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) before starting their operations.
- Company Seal/Stamp Obtaining a Company Seal or Stamp is not a requirement for registration of a business. Seals can be obtained by Companies or Businesses in their own time and in their own interest, to authenticate their business documents after the companies have been duly registered at the Registrar General's Department. Notice is hereby given that use of Company seal is completely optional as per section 146 of the Companies Code.
